Hollow disk pump L series

Positive displacement hollow disk pump with external seal. The seal is located externally inside the rear stuffing box and the pump shaft is frontally supported on bearing bushing. This arrangement makes the pump suitable for heavy duty applications and for continuous service. The particular configuration allows monitoring and replacement of the seal from back without disassembling the pump body. The pump is self-priming with high dry suction capability, reversible, can process solid parts and offers high performance also in the most critical process applications. This pump model is available in the single body, double body or triple body version and also in stainless steel construction

Working principle

The oscillating hollow disk moves inside the body generating two volumes, the suction volume and the discharge volume, separated by the diaphragm. The fluid passes through the openings of the pump body. The hollow disk is kept pressed against the walls of the body by a spring which makes the system elastic and allows the passage of solid bodies. Compared to competitor models, the new range of hollow disk pumps developed by Belli Meccanica starting from 2008, has wider sliding surfaces and reduced eccentricity of the disk. These technical improvements ensure excellent performance and superior reliability.

The seal is set externally inside the rear stuffing box and the pump shaft, equipped with a replaceable hardened wear bushing, is supported on bushing bearing. This arrangement makes the pump suitable for critical applications and for use in continuous service. The particular configuration allows the monitoring and replacement of the seal from back (back-pullout design) without dismantling the pump body, and allows the installation of any type of seal.

    External seal

    The arrangement with bushing bearing supported shaft and rear external seal allows the installation of every type of seal and excellent performances in heavy duty applications.

    In-line coupling

    The in-line coupled arrangement avoids any type of misalignment between pump and gearmotor, vibrations and overloads on the bearings.

    Pump body with sliding surfaces and reduced eccentricity of the disk

    Higher suction capacity, less wear and smoother operation compared to the old hollow disk pump models and competitor models.

    Hollow disk with guided bushing

    The disk bushing is designed with an external guide that ensures effective support on the shaft and avoids the use of the spring end cup.

    Flanges according to UNI ISO PN10

    The flange connections are standardized UNI ISO PN10, adapters for ANSI RF150 and other types of fittings are available on request.

    Heating jacket in option

    Installation of pump body heating jacket and rear seal heating jacket for pumping hot liquids. The pump jacket is equipped with threaded connections for hot water, steam or diathermic oil line.
